To provide an effective training solution to an organization it is imperative to comprehend the business and individual needs. In order to accomplish this it is important to identify the business drivers for the development of a training program, along with the organizational results that are desired or needed. And then begins the systematic approach for crafting effective and efficient training solutions that meet organizational and individual needs.
At Crossmind, we follow The ADDIE Model for implementing training programs as it helps us to analyze the needs of our clients, plan a support logic model, create, implement and evaluate each key-work functions.
» Conduct Need Analysis:
The first step in the cycle, this is where it is critical to gather information about the project and define the approach.
We collaborate with the client to determine the perceived needs of the trainees/learners. Then we use follow-up strategies like conducting focus groups, surveys, and interviews, to gather additional information thereby, determining the current performance levels for each area of focus. Lastly, we communicate the results from these findings.
» Designing the delivery of the program:
This is the phase where the accumulated information is used to define the approach of imparting training to the learners.
The design of the training program helps us to clarify the customer requirements, goals and outcomes. It helps to define objectives and plan instruction strategies, through the identification of resources and the development of assessment instruments.
» Developing and producing the training materials
In this phase actual materials are created by using the designed content to be implemented in the next step.
We develop and select instructional materials, and data management tools and strategies, like workbooks, presentations, audio-visuals etc. We also design and construct formative evaluation of instruction.
» Implement Actual training
This is arguably, the most important phase of the model, where the training, carefully prepared in the previous steps is imparted to the learners. This is the stage where learning actually occurs.
We ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the learning program. This phase promotes the participant’ understanding of material, support their understanding of objectives and ensure transfer of information from the instructional setting to the task.
» Evaluate the adequacy of the instruction
This phase is not only confined to the end of the model. Formative evaluation begins right at the first step and continues till the end, assessing the relevance of the content along with the successful implementation.
We measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the instruction provided to the learners. We conduct evaluation throughout the entire instructional design process – within phases, between phases, and after implementation. Evaluation may be Formative or Summative.
